Bayard's Call With Kirby Update...

KIRBY UPDATE:
Our Vet Intern, Bayard called just now to give us an update on Kirby from the night. He said he seemed to be comfortable and tolerated the night. They unhooked the catheter and IV and took him outside for a walk this morning. It was good to hear that he is able to walk. He had chicken for breakfast and Bayard said he ate all of it. Well, YEAH...LOL He's used to Blue Buffalo dry dog food with water added and rarely gets real chicken. Now, because of the special kidney diet he will get to have "people" food like chicken and real rice so he's a happy camper in that area. He remains a very sick dog. We are just thankful he is able to eat. They have scheduled his sonagram fro 2:20 this afternoon to see the condition of his kidneys. We will go and visit him before the procedure and wait in the waiting room until he's finished to get the results. Then we will love on him some more before coming back home. Our other two dogs are very subdued. Of course, we always knew who the alpha dog was in the family!
It was a long hard night without much sleeping for these puppy parents. Praying that God will lead us to the right decisions for him and trying not to pray what WE want but rather what God's will is. We appreciate the concern and prayers for Kirby and for Russ and me. We will give you an update after our MSU hospital visit this afternoon.

One of our fellow teachers, Kristy McCord made this sweet little poster for us for facebook.  We are touched by all of the prayers and support we have received for our sweet Kirby.
