A
Blast From the Past...baby Kirby before his first grooming about 7
weeks old. Just a ball of soft white fur. This is the size he still
thinks he is when he gets up on my shoulder. Cannot wait to get there
today to hold him. Our house is so quiet even though we have two other
dogs. The girls are so well behaved. One sits in the chair with me and
the other with Russ...we watch TV---when we finish...we take them out.
When we want to feed them, we do it and it's just eas
y.
What is missing at our house is the Alpha Dog. The "white dog" who
barked every time our bottoms hit the chair...to go out, to come in,
because a bird flew by, because a lawn mower was in the county...lol
When the bottom of his bowl could be seen through the food, he had to
have it refilled AND Kasidy's bowl just for good measure. If we didn't
do it within the prescribed time (10 seconds or less), he was rattle the
bowl until we did. If we moved, he moved. Always at our side. And,
if the door opened more than two inches, he was out and on the
neighborhood. He prefers his water freshly poured into his bowls and
the toilet is even better. Kirby is just what we lovingly call a "high
maintenance" dog. LOL It's amazing that we have two more after him
because he could easily keep us busy. Maybe that's why the two girls
are so easy. Our lives will be different with him being blind and I
imagine he will slow down quite a bit but I have no doubt his alpha
spirit will remain and I KNOW his love and loyalty for his "people" will
not waiver. Cannot wait to get him home to rule the house again. It's
hard work and someone's got to do it!
